Arkham Asylum is located on the outskirts of Gotham City, and is where those of Batman's foes considered to be legally insane are incarcerated. Although it has had numerous administrators, its current head is Jeremiah Arkham. The Asylum does not have a good record, at least with regard to the high profile cases; escapes are frequent and those who are 'cured' and released tend to re-offend. Furthermore, several staff members, including at least one director, have ended up as residents.

Nornheim, the Asgardian province is where dwell the Three Norns, the Goddesses of Destiny, and Karnilla who has become one of the most accomplished practitioners of the arts of sorcery in the Asgardian dimension. Although Nornheim lies on the Asgardian land mass within Asgard's own dimension, and although Karnilla is apparently of the Asgardian race, she does not consider herself to be subject to Asgardian rule. Rather, Nornheim is an independent country, of which Karnilla is absolute monarch.

Oz consists of four vast quadrants, the North, South, East and West, each of which has its own ruler, sometimes a witch or sorcerer. However, the realm itself has always been ruled by one official dominant monarch, who represents the entire country as a whole. Currently ruled over by the Warlord of Oz.

Wonderland is meant as a peaceful and happy place, but it is corrupted by the Jabberwocky and thus made into a place that caused nightmares and insanity. Except for a specific blade which can bring permanent death to characters in Wonderland, there is no such thing as death there as numerous people have been killed and later regenerated. Beware the Madness.
